Matt Caton
FOUNDER
Matt has twenty plus years of experience in security, emergency first response and law enforcement and as such, brings a unique perspective to the training environment.
Currently Matt is a training officer in one of Canada’s largest police training facilities. Matt currently instructs and trains veteran and recruit police officers and uniformed civilian members of the police service in lawful use of force, judgement training, mental health awareness, crisis resolution, critical incident response and articulation. His responsibilities also include creating training programs and course curricula, sourcing information, developing best practices and researching and understanding statutory, regulatory and policy changes.
Police training is dynamic and can be inherently dangerous. As such, Matt must be mindful of the health and safety of all persons participating in the training he is leading at all times.
To his current role as a Police Instructor, Matt brings his extensive policing experience. This experience began as a Primary Response officer answering emergency calls for service. This was followed by many years of investigative work in counter terrorism, intelligence gathering, threat assessment, surveillance, and the internal affairs Professional Standards unit.
Matt has supplemented his experience with training in preparing applications for Judicial Authorizations, police marine operations, covert operations, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), police vehicle operations and teaching adult learners.
Richard Warr
FOUNDER
Richard has over twenty years of experience in the security and law enforcement industry.
During his career as a police officer, Richard was a training officer involved in designing and delivering instruction to all members of the Toronto Police Service. As a Incident Response Training officer, Richard provided instruction in judgement training, defensive tactics and use of weapons, dynamic simulation training, crisis resolution, dealing with emotionally disturbed persons and de-escalation.
Richard also has a diverse investigative background conducting major drug, organized crime and terrorism investigations often in joint forces units. These investigations were sometimes national or international in scope.
Richard began his career in law enforcement and security as a Special Constable providing courthouse security, prisoner management and transportation. This provided him with a strong base in understanding how to deal with people who are experiencing some form of crisis, both in and out of custody. This experience served him well when he became a Primary Response police officer responsible for answering emergency calls for service.
Like Matt, Richard has continued his policing, security and law enforcement training in preparing applications for Judicial Authorizations, covert operations, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), police vehicle operations and teaching adult learners.
